Deputies: Woman near Plant City stabs cheating ex-boyfriend

PLANT CITY — An argument that began with a bra and panties escalated almost to murder Sunday when a woman stabbed her ex-boyfriend, according to Hillsborough County deputies.

Christina Rene Folsom, 19, was jailed on a charge of attempted third-degree murder after she used a kitchen knife to stab her ex-boyfriend, Dustin Griffin, 26, in his back, an arrest report stated.

The two had dated until recently, when Folsom discovered that Griffin was cheating on her with his ex-wife, officials said.

On Sunday, the two were in Griffin's home near Plant City. An argument ensued when Folsom discovered a bra and panties in his bedroom, authorities said. She punched him in the face and he told her to leave, the report stated.

The argument continued. Folsom walked to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. While Griffin had his back to her, she raised the blade and stabbed him once in the back, deputies said.

Griffin was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but he was expected to survive.

Folsom was later arrested at her home at 4706 Bloom Drive. She was held Monday in the Hillsborough County Jail on $4,250 bail.
