Woman robbed at gunpoint in front of Thonotosassa home

THONOTOSASSA — Deputies are asking for the public's help in their search for a man who robbed a woman at gunpoint as she unloaded groceries from her car outside her Thonotosassa house.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the unnamed 24-year-old woman was in front of her home about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when a man grabbed her from behind and put a gun to the side of her head while demanding money.

He removed a credit card from the woman's front pocket and left in a dark-colored sports utility vehicle.

About an hour later, the stolen credit card was used at Perry's BBQ in University Square Mall, and a surveillance camera recorded the man who used it, along with three other men with him. One matched the woman's description of the robber, deputies say.

Deputies released the video of the suspect and ask that anyone with information call them at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.
