Detectives arrest clerk after raid at Thonotosassa store

THONOTOSASSA — A store clerk who detectives said sold them synthetic marijuana packaged as "Sex Monkey" out of a smoke shop was arrested Monday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Detectives searched the Al Pacino Smoke Shop, 10804 Main St., on Monday and arrested sales clerk Amanda Griner, 23, of Riverview. Deputies had previously made two purchases of the substance from Griner.

Detectives found about 12 pounds of the packaged material and $600.

Griner faces charges of delivery of controlled substances, possession of controlled substances and maintaining a dwelling for drug use.
