Detectives seek gunman in two Pinellas bank robberies

SAFETY HARBOR — Pinellas County sheriff's detectives are searching for a gun-wielding man in his 40s who they say robbed his second bank in two weeks.

The latest robbery, officials said, was at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the Fifth Third Bank at 1703 McMullen-Booth Road.

The robber is described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, khaki shorts, tan boots, a ball cap and wire-rimmed glasses.

Detectives said the man is linked to a robbery Sept. 16 at the Anderen Bank at 3412 East Lake Road in Palm Harbor.

If you have any information about either robbery, call (727) 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
