Dover man arrested on child porn charges

DOVER — Deputies say a 24-year-old man confessed to downloading at least 30 images of child pornography after a search of his computer Friday.

Christopher Ryan Bane's charges were upgraded to 30 counts of second-degree felony possession of child pornography because many of the children in the images were younger than 5, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office.

The Sheriff's Internet Predator Unit served a search warrant at Bane's home at 15210 Robert Bane Drive and seized his laptop computer, deputies said.

He was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail where his bail was set at $225,000.
