Duo accused of stealing $1,200 in copper from Lowe's

NEW PORT RICHEY — A man and a woman are accused of trying to steal $1,200 worth of copper fittings from Lowe's and sell the metal for scrap to support their prescription drug addiction.

Jamie Canesa and Kelli Marie Kramer were seen Monday afternoon filling a cloth tote bag with the copper parts at the Lowe's at 8312 Little Road, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.

They also picked up two rolls of copper tubing, but abandoned them in the garden center after being "unable to conceal" them, the report said.

Canesa, 19, of Palm Harbor, and Kramer, 18, of Tarpon Springs, were charged with retail theft. He remained in jail Tuesday, while she was released on $2,000 bail.
