East Tampa man held on 40 child porn counts

TAMPA — An East Tampa man was arrested at his home Friday on 40 counts of possessing child pornography, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to the home of Thomas Neil Harris, 47, at 10625 Bryan Road, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

Investigators found pornographic images of children in the home and detained Harris, Carter said. He works for an auto dealership, according to arrest records.

After he was arrested, Harris made some statements about his health and was taken to hospital, Carter said.

Once Harris is medically cleared, he'll be taken to a Hillsborough County jail and held in lieu of $300,000 bond.
