ST. PETERSBURG — The father of a teenager convicted of killing a police officer in 2011 has been accused of selling drugs to an undercover detective.
Police arrested Nicholas Lindsey Sr., 44, Thursday night on charges of possessing and selling cocaine and also possessing marijuana.
St. Petersburg police said they got a tip in August that Lindsey was selling drugs out of his home. Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration launched a joint investigation.
Police spokesman Mike Puetz said Lindsey sold powder cocaine to an undercover detective in September and October.
Lindsey's son, also named Nicholas, was convicted in March of killing Officer David S. Crawford on Feb. 21, 2011. The 17-year-old is serving life in prison.
