Fired employee accused of calling in bomb threat to St. Petersburg TV studio

ST. PETERSBURG — Police arrested a St. Petersburg man they said called in a bomb threat early Wednesday to a local television studio that fired him.

The American Auction Network studio's customer service office received the call about 3:15 a.m., said police spokesman Johnny Harris.

Security evacuated the building and employees moved to a parking lot near the studio, 289 34th St. N, Harris said. Police traced the call to Jeoffrey Cliff Bristow 48, he said.

Harris said Bristow was recently fired and that he admitted making the call.

Bristow is charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device, a felony.
