A former Pinellas Park High School teacher pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges he had a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Jonathan Dunn, 29, was a math teacher when he was arrested in March 2013. He was charged with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and transmitting harmful material to a minor after a tipster told a school resource officer he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student in late 2011.

On Wednesday, Dunn pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Pinellas Pasco Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Newton sentenced Dunn to three years in prison followed by two years of sex offender probation.

According to arrest affidavits, Dunn's relationship with the teen spanned three weeks in 2011. Police said they had sex in his classroom, in his car, and in Dunn's Gulfport home. Another tip to school officials indicated Dunn had sent an inappropriate text message to a student just before he was removed from duty.
