A former detention officer for the Department of Juvenile Justice in Polk and Osceola counties was arrested Thursday on charges he molested a girl under 12 years old.
According to Polk County deputies, 41-year-old Rolando Dejesus, of Orlando, had inappropriate sexual contact with the girl in her bedroom on several occasions, beginning when she was 7 years old.
Dejesus admitted to the lewd acts, according to the arrest affidavit. He is being held without bail at the Polk County Jail.
Dejesus worked as a juvenile detention officer for the Department of Juvenile Justice in Polk and Osceola counties from 1996-97, and was a detention supervisor from 2004-2011, deputies said.
He has no criminal history, deputies said.
Dejesus, who has been employed as a security officer for Isleworth Golf and Country Security Company in Windermere since June 2012, said the acts did not occur while he was at work, deputies said.
