ST. PETERSBURG — A man wanted in connection with the killing of a homeless man last month in Pasco County has been spotted this week at stores in St. Petersburg and Seminole, authorities said.

The most recent sighting of Robert Allen Shelly was Thursday morning at City Food Mart, 5028 66th St. N., according to Pasco County sheriff's officials.

He was also seen at 11:14 a.m. Wednesday inside a Publix at 3900 66th St. N, deputies said. He was seen again at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday at a 7-Eleven store at 7612 Starkey Road in Seminole.

Authorities released surveillance images late Thursday. In photos, Shelly appeared to be wearing the same blue and white checkered shirt with a blue ball cap and blue jeans.

Shelly, 50, has an outstanding warrant charging him with first-degree murder in the Jan. 26 beating death of 53-year-old Darrell Bland. Detectives say Shelly bludgeoned Bland with a log from a campfire.

Anyone with information about Shelly can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477. Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
