Fundraiser to help son, 3, of man killed while chasing thieves

TOWN 'N COUNTRY — Friends of Jason R. DeMarzian, the would-be hero killed last month as he chased thieves who stole a woman's medicine, will gather this weekend to raise money for the man's 3-year-old son.

From 3 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday, they will bowl, raffle off gift certificates and remember DeMarzian, who died May 7 when his motorcycle hit a Ford Explorer broadside, slammed to the pavement and caught fire.

Proceeds from the event, which will be held at the AMF Bradenton Lanes, 4208 Cortez Road W, will go to a trust fund under the name of the late man's son, Joshua Jason DeMarzian.

To contribute to the fund, contact a SunTrust Bank location. For information, call Keegan Koga at (941) 301-6944.
