Gunshot wounds Largo man in Clearwater

CLEARWATER — A Largo man was shot late Tuesday at Woodlawn Street and S Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

The Pinellas Sheriff's Office got a 911 call about 11 p.m. regarding a man suffering from a gunshot wound at 2132 Coral Way in Largo.

Deputies found Larry Joe Jerry, 26, shot in the right shoulder.

Jerry either drove or was driven to his Coral Way home after the shooting, said Joelle Castelli, city of Clearwater spokeswoman.

Rescuers took Jerry to Bayfront Medical Center, she said. The gunshot was not considered a life-threatening injury, she said. The circumstances of the shooting remained unclear Wednesday morning.

Jerry told authorities someone named Kenny shot him. Police searched the area but did not find anyone who met his description.
