RIDGE MANOR — Hernando deputies have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with a marijuana-growing operation found inside a home near the Hernando-Pasco county line.

John Calvin Cramer II was arrested Friday night and charged with cultivating marijuana and public nuisance. He was taken to the Hernando County Jail and booked, with bail set at $15,000.

According to the arrest report, authorities went to the house Friday afternoon after getting a tip from a confidential source Thursday. Cramer admitted to growing the marijuana for the past six months in a single-wide mobile home directly behind his residence at 3266 Turtle St., in the Talisman Estates subdivision, south of Ridge Manor.

Authorities said they found about 50 marijuana plants growing inside the mobile home at 35016 Reynolds St. Also found were a number of items used in the growing operation, including light fixtures, several ballasts and a carbon filter.
