Hernando County woman faces charge in man's death from drug overdose

WEEKI WACHEE — A 43-year-old Hernando County woman has been arrested on a third-degree murder charge that alleges she sold Methadone and other pills to a man who died the next day from a drug overdose.

Charlene Marie Nadeau of 6354 Richard Drive sold 10 Methadone pills at $6 each and three Xanax pills at $3 each to Terry Joe White at Nadeau's home on April 4, according to a Hernando County Sheriff's arrest report.

White ingested the pills and was found unresponsive the next day at his home at 6335 Fine St. in Weeki Wachee, according to the report. He was pronounced dead at Oak Hill Hospital. The Medical Examiner's Office in Leesburg determined the cause of death was Methadone toxicity.

Nadeau told an unidentified witness that she had sold her prescription Methadone to White, according to the report, which added that authorities confirmed Nadeau's sale of prescription drugs through controlled drug buys at her home.

Nadeau faces one count of third-degree murder and one count of sale of a controlled substance.

Bail was set at $20,000.
