Hernando investigators seek help with church burglaries

BROOKSVILLE - Several churches in Hernando County have been hit by burglars since November, and the Sheriff's Office is asking residents for help in finding those responsible.

The sheriff's office reported on Wednesday that there have been numerous church burglaries in Hernando County in recent months, and that several other counties within Central Florida have been experiencing the same type of activity.

The offenses are occurring during nighttime hours where unknown suspect(s) are rummaging through the offices, looking for money, the report states.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office or to call the Crime Stoppers toll free number 1-866-990-8477.
