Hillsborough deputies capture suspect in shooting rampage

Hillsborough sheriff's deputies said early Saturday morning that they captured the 56-year-old man accused of going on a shooting rampage in Carrollwood that left one teen girl dead and two others critically wounded.

Andre Watkins had threatened to harm deputies if they tried to arrest him. But he was arrested without incident at a Plant City gas station around 1 a.m., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, after deputies swooped in and captured him after he had finished getting gas.

Deputies said they grabbed Watkins before he could get back into his vehicle.
