Hillsborough deputies identify body found east of Tampa

TAMPA — Hillsborough detectives are searching for answers in the death of a Valrico man found lying along a road in the Palm River-Clair Mel area east of Tampa early Tuesday.

A homeowner in the 2000 block of S 51st Street called 911 about midnight to report a vehicle parked alongside the road near her house.

Hillsborough sheriff's deputies found a man lying on the ground with injuries to his upper body.

Harold Wright, 25, of 2010 Rudder Drive was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner's Office has not yet released a cause of death.

Homicide detectives were investigating the crime scene for several hours early Tuesday and had sectioned off a few blocks.

No other information was released.

    KISSIMMEE — A Kissimmee police officer died and a second was gravely wounded Friday night, police Chief Jeff O'Dell said.
