SEFFNER — A man and woman were taken to a hospital early Friday after someone fired a gun into their car as they drove on Interstate 4 near Seffner.

Kareem Spann, 20, was driving east on the interstate just after midnight with Antani Lise, 27, and Antonio Diaz, 24, according to Hillsborough sheriff's deputies.

As they passed the Interstate 75 interchange, another car pulled alongside them. Someone in the other car fired several gunshots before speeding away, authorities said.

Spann and Lise were both shot, deputies said. They were taken to a hospital with injuries deputies described as not life-threatening. Diaz was not hurt.

The three were not being cooperative with investigators, sheriff's officials said. Records show that all three have lengthy arrest records in Hillsborough County.

In August, Spann, who is on probation for selling marijuana, was charged with shooting a gun inside a vehicle. Court records indicate the charge was later dropped. He has since been arrested twice more.

He was most recently jailed on Monday for failing to appear in court on a marijuana possession charge. The next day he paid $1,000 bail and was released.

Friday's shooting briefly closed the interstate as deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigated.

No arrests were made.
