Man wanted in three Hillsborough pharmacy robberies

TAMPA — Deputies are searching for a man they believe robbed three pharmacies this month, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

A CVS pharmacy at 11212 Dale Mabry Highway was robbed about 1 p.m. Friday. Four days later, two pharmacies in Brandon were robbed — a Walgreens at 930 Providence Road and a CVS at 715 W Brandon Blvd.

During each robbery, the man approached the counter and demanded prescription drugs, deputies said. The clerk at the Walgreens refused to hand him any medications.

Deputies describe the robber as a white man between the ages of 25 and 30, weighing 175 pounds and measuring nearly 6 feet tall.

He was last seen wearing a gray University of Florida hooded sweatshirt, a blue baseball cap, aviator sunglasses, blue shorts and black tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.

    Lightning Strikes

TAMPA — The wait felt like forever for Lightning captain Steven Stamkos, having gone 10 months without playing in a game.

A scramble in front of the Lightning goal has Matthew Peca, far left, and Erik Cernak, middle, helping out goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy during the third period of a 3-1 win against the Predators. Vasilevskiy, who made 29 saves, was “exceptional,” coach Jon Cooper says.
