Man accused of shooting stepbrother wanted by Hillsborough Sheriff's Office

Deputies are asking the public to help them find a man who allegedly shot his stepbrother in the face late Tuesday night at a home in Plant City, according to Hillsborough County sheriff's officials.

Jose Alejandro Esparza, 32, got in an argument about 8:30 p.m. with his stepbrother, Ramiro Silva, Jr., 22, at Silva's house at 2808 Chance Place, authorities said. Why the two were fighting was unclear.

During the argument, Esparza pulled out a small-caliber handgun and shot Silva in the face, officials said. He then took off in a white Dodge Durango.

Silva's family took him to a local hospital. The gunshot wound was not considered life threatening, authorities said.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
