Hillsborough deputies seek man who robbed Lithia credit union

LITHIA — Hillsborough deputies hope the public can help them identify a man who robbed a credit union Thursday morning in Lithia.

The robbery happened about 10:53 a.m. that day at the Railroad Federal Credit Union at 4373 Lynx Paw Trail.

The man walked in to the building wearing a khaki-colored boonie hat bearing the letters "HKO," deputies said. A white cloth covered his face. He approached a teller and demanded money, deputies said. The teller handed over some cash and the man fled.

The man was described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds with a potbelly.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8000.
