Holiday man, 68, charged with making child porn

LAND O'LAKES — Already in jail on lewd and lascivious battery charges, a 68-year-old man faces new charges after detectives say they found a pornographic video on the man's computer of him with a 15-year-old boy.

Deputies seized Dennis Machmer's computer in May after his first arrest, when he was accused of sexual battery on the same boy in the video. Detectives were scanning through the computer's hard drive when the video came up, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report states.

The 10-minute video shows Machmer taking lewd pictures of the boy with his cell phone, the report says. In the video, the report says, Machmer "verbally acknowledges that he was taking pictures and that the video was being recorded."

The video was time stamped for April 20.

Machmer, of Holiday, was charged Wednesday with recording child pornography, in addition to the lewd battery charge from May.

He remained Thursday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $110,000 bail.
