TARPON SPRINGS — A homeless man slapped his girlfriend after she refused to strip for him, authorities said.

According to an arrest affidavit, Tekita L. Jackson told investigators that her boyfriend became angry with her Sunday afternoon when she declined to do a striptease for him. Donald Joseph Abel, 60, said he slapped Jackson only after she kicked him.

It wasn't the first time that Abel had battered the woman, Jackson told Tarpon Springs police. She said she loved Abel and lied to medical personnel and police when questioned about previous instances of abuse.

Abel and Jackson have lived in shelters and wooded areas for more than a year, the affidavit states.

He was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
