Cashier accused of pocketing refunds
A 34-year-old employee of Hudson Hardware is accused of stealing money from the shop's cash register.
According to his arrest report, Daniel Charles Currier of New Port Richey processed refunds between April 30 and May 10 at the store, then pocketed the money. The total dollar amount is unknown, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office report, but is expected to exceed $1,500.
Currier, the report says, admitted stealing the money to pay for food and gas.
He remained jailed Friday without bond on a charge of scheme to defraud.
He is also accused of violating his probation on grand theft charges.
