TAMPA — A 52-year-old inmate died Thursday morning at the Falkenburg Road Jail of apparent natural causes, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies found Daniel Fajardo unconscious during a routine welfare check just after 3 a.m. They performed CPR until Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue arrived.
Fajardo was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he died about 4:30 a.m., deputies said.
Fajardo was at the jail on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and abuse of an elderly or disabled adult charges.
Detectives will conduct a routine investigation according with agency policy.
