TAMPA — A 7-week-old baby kidnapped from home Saturday afternoon was returned safely to a relative, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office.
Reginald Levison, 27, took the child to his sister who then contacted the sheriff's office.
Earlier in the day, Levison assaulted the mother of his child, Teah Coward, 26, at her apartment at 12402 Spicer Place. Levison tried to strangle her, struck her and kept her prisoner in her apartment, deputies said.
Then deputies said that Levison took the child, 7-week-old Jaelin Levison, the mother's cell phone and her car and then fled.
Levison left in the mother's car, a red 2007 Chrysler Sebring with Florida license plate tag AENC63.
Deputies are still searching Levison.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Levison or 7-week-old Jaelin is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
