LARGO — Pinellas County sheriff's deputies on Friday arrested a man they say downloaded child pornography onto his home computer, then distributed the videos via online sharing websites.

Michael Patrick Freeman, 33, is being held on $180,000 bond at the Pinellas County Jail following the arrest at his Largo home. He is charged with eight counts of possession of child porn and one count of promoting it through the sharing sites.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Freeman was identified during the course of a countywide undercover internet investigation launched by Special Victims Unit detectives in early March.

Detectives served a warrant on Freeman at 6 a.m. Friday. Authorities say Freeman admitted to the allegations during an interview.

The investigation continues.
