Largo man charged with sexual battery of child

LARGO — A 37-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl for several years was arrested Sunday night.

The victim told Largo police that Cornelio Herrera-Martinez of Largo began raping her when she was 10 years old and that the abuse continued for four years, an arrest affidavits shows.

The girl and Herrera-Martinez know each other. Herrera-Martinez has denied ever abusing her, according to the affidavit.

Herrera-Martinez faces a charge of sexual battery against a minor under age 12.

He was booked into the Pinellas County jail, where he remained Monday without bail.
