LARGO — Officers arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday night accused of robbing five businesses at gunpoint since last month, police said.

Jose Luis Collazo Rodriguez of Clearwater faces charges of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, and resisting arrest without violence.

According to Largo police, officers arrived at the Long John Silver's at 351 Missouri Ave. about 10 p.m. Tuesday after a robbery was reported.

One of the officers noticed a man riding a bicycle with shoes that resembled the shoes of a robbery suspect seen on surveillance video at several other businesses. When the officer approached the man on the bike, he tried to run away, but was apprehended.

The man was identified as Rodriguez. He is also accused of robbing three Subway locations and a 7-Eleven.

Rodriguez was booked into the Pinellas County jail, where he remained Wednesday in lieu of $650,150 bail.
