LARGO — A transient from Largo was arrested Sunday on a charge of attempted murder after he repeatedly stabbed a victim with a butcher knife, police said. Edward Daniel Curran, 24, got into an argument with the victim, whose identity was not released, according to the Largo Police Department. Curran struck the victim on the head several times with a glass ashtray at a Largo house, left, and then returned with a large butcher knife, police said. He then stabbed the victim in the back, shoulder, arm and head, according to police. Curran fled the scene but was later arrested by Largo patrol officers. He was being held without bail at the Pinellas County Jail.
