CLEARWATER — A 26-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after he attacked a man waiting for a taxi outside the Floridian Inn, police said.
Randall Larkin was waiting for a taxi about 2:30 a.m. at the hotel, 1681 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., when he was approached by two men, police said.
Shane Meggison, 26, hit Larkin in the face and the body, causing Larkin to fall to the ground, police said.
As Larkin fell, officials said, Meggison began to kick him. Larkin suffered serious injuries to his face, head and right arm. One of his teeth was also chipped in the attack. Police arrested Meggison about half an hour later. He faces a charge of aggravated battery and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
