Man accused of beating pregnant girlfriend

LAND O'LAKES — Authorities say Albion G. Williams, a 62-year-old air conditioning technician, choked, beat and dragged his pregnant girlfriend by her hair about 1 a.m. Friday.

His girlfriend is between four and five months pregnant, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Williams, of 22803 Richardson Lane, was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant person and was being held without bail Friday at the Land O'Lakes jail.

The report did not give the medical condition of the woman, but said she had marks on her throat from being choked and chunks of her hair fell out.

President Donald Trump's ban on travelers from six majority-Muslim countries is set to be replaced as soon as this weekend with more targeted restrictions on visits to the United States that would vary by country, officials familiar with the plans said Friday. The new restrictions, aimed at preventing security threats from entering the United States, could go into effect Sunday after the conclusion of a 90-day policy review undertaken as part of the administration's original travel ban.
