TAMPA — Two women begged a man not to set fire to their house in Plant City as he was dousing the corner, but he torched it anyway, got into a 2008 Suzuki and drove away, according to the State Fire Marshal.
Norfleet Brown Jr., 35, whose listed address is Metropolitan Ministries on Florida Avenue in Tampa, was arrested and charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count of first degree arson.
There were four people in 301 S. Hunter St., on Wednesday morning when the fire began, and two of them told investigators Brown poured a flammable substance on the house's northeast corner and then lit it, officials said. Investigators arrested Brown at the Metropolitan Ministries at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. He was being held at the Orient Road Jail without bail.
