PALM HARBOR — A 46-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, accused of attacking his wife with a machete, authorities said.

Robert F. Crowell, of 3300 Alt. 19 N, Lot 37, was charged with aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon for the attack, which happened around 2:30 a.m.

According to an arrest report, Crowell sliced his wife's neck and hand with the two-foot-long machete and threatened to kill her.

The woman, who was able to get away from Crowell, was treated by paramedics for lacerations, the report said.

Crowell was arrested at his home and taken to the Pinellas County Jail where he is being held without bail.
