Man confronts Brooksville woman, steals her car, wallet, phone

BROOKSVILLE — A man wearing a bandana over his face confronted a woman and stole her car from her front yard Wednesday night, according to the Brooksville Police Department.

At about 10:40 p.m, police responded to 823 Peach St. The woman told them that she had parked her car, a 2006 Buick Lucerne, in the yard and was walking toward her house when a man pointed a handgun at her and demanded her cell phone, keys and wallet. She complied and he drove away in her Buick.

Neither the woman nor the suspect was injured during the encounter, police said. A full description of the suspect was not available. The teal Lucerne has 22-inch chrome rims and Florida tag 135LJD.
