Man injured during early-morning drive-by shooting in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG — A man was injured in a drive-by shooting early Friday, police said.

Curtis Martin, 37, of Clearwater, told officers he was with friends in the alley behind a home in the 1600 block of 15th Avenue S. about 1:30 a.m.

Martin and his friends say a dark colored Lincoln drove by, police said, and they then heard three or four shots. They all ran.

Martin realized he was shot in the leg a short time later, police spokesman Mike Puetz said. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Martin told police he didn't know who would be shooting at him. Police don't have any suspects.
