Man jailed for exchanging sex videos with teen

Michael Wells

Michael Wells, 23

A 23-year-old Tarpon Springs man accused of receiving and sending sexually explicit videos with a 15-year-old Kansas girl was arrested Wednesday, police said. On April 7, the parents of the girl contacted Wichita police to report a relationship between their daughter and a man in Florida. Police discovered the man pressured the girl to send him videos of herself online. The girl told detectives she sent five to 10 videos to the man, who also sent her sexually explicit videos. Authorities identified the man as Michael Anthony Wells of Tarpon Springs and contacted Tarpon Springs police. During an interview with detectives, he admitted to sending and receiving videos from the girl. He faces charges of transmission of harmful material to a child and sexual performance by a child. Wells was booked into the Pinellas County jail, where he remained Thursday in lieu of $15,000 bail.
