Man made bomb threat at Rasmussen College in New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY — Deputies say the student carrying a bulky leather bag wandered through the halls of Rasmussen College, repeating the same phrase to other students: "You're gonna die."

Jeremy Jose Rivera, 26, walked into the school's library on Friday, muttered the same thing to more students and left with his bag noticeably lighter, a witness told deputies.

He then left the campus at 8661 Little Road and got into a car wreck, a Pasco Sheriff's report states.

In an interview with deputies, the report states, Rivera said he planted a bomb in the school and that he "felt the rush of combat."

Deputies evacuated the school and searched it but found no explosives. They arrested Rivera, of 9914 Stephenson Drive in New Port Richey. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail Monday in lieu of $10,500 bail.
