CLEARWATER — A man on a motor scooter was seriously injured by an automobile on Gulf to Bay Boulevard Thursday night, authorities said.
It happened just before 7 p.m. near Bypass Drive, just west of U.S. 19, said Clearwater police spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts.
Robert D. Peacock, 46, of Clearwater, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center by helicopter as a trauma alert patient, authorities said. He was listed in stable condition at the hospital late Thursday night, police said.
Police said Peacock's motor scooter collided with a gray Toyota Camry driven by Earl Lee Williams, 64, also of Clearwater. Police are still investigating and did not say who was at fault.
