TAMPA — Police are searching for a man who fired a gun in the direction of a park ranger and struck a house Friday night.

City of Tampa park ranger James R. Davidson, 43, was writing a parking ticket at Kwane Doster Community Center at 7506 S Morton St., at 7:20 p.m. when he was approached by the car's driver, according to Tampa Police. The man cursed at Davidson before getting into the car and driving to the other side of the parking lot.

The man got out of his car and fired a gun four times from across the lot, but he didn't hit Davidson, police said. He then fled in the vehicle.

A bullet fired by the man struck a house at 7513 S Morton St. People were inside the home at the time but no one was injured. Anyone with information about this incident can contact the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
