Man, 47, shot in leg during home invasion
A man was shot in the leg during a violent home invasion in Hudson early Thursday, authorities said.
Pasco sheriff's deputies said they arrived at 47-year-old James Miller's home on Ogalala Street in the Griffin Park area about 2:15 a.m. He told them a man wearing a black mask came into his home, demanded money and shot him. When Miller refused, the man shot him again in the leg.
He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has not cooperated with investigators. Miller has been arrested several times in the county on drug-related charges, records show.
Deputies knew about him, Sheriff Chris Nocco said. He said Miller "had a high probability of being a victim to a violent crime because of the company he kept."
"If you're shot and you're normal, you're going to assist law enforcement to try to catch the person who got you," Nocco said. "To say that we don't have much sympathy with Mr. Miller ... yeah."
