Man shot, injured in Ybor City robbery

TAMPA — A man was shot during a robbery early Sunday morning after leaving Broadway Bar in Ybor City, police said.

The victim was walking to his truck parked in a Seventh Avenue parking lot at about 2 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up with three men inside, a police report said. Two of them jumped out of the vehicle and one, armed with a 9mm handgun, shot the victim once in his side. A second shot missed, the report said. One of the suspects then grabbed the victim's Jesus charm necklace, pulled down his pants and jumped back into the car and fled, the report said.

The victim was transported to Tampa General Hospital and is in good condition. Police are searching for the three men who were driving a dark-colored, four-door vehicle at the time.
