Man with knife robs gas station in Spring Hill

SPRING HILL — A man with a knife robbed a gas station on Commercial Way near Applegate Drive Wednesday and fled with a waiting accomplice, Hernando County authorities said.

No one was injured.

A man in his 20s entered the Mobil Mart station at 1394 Commercial Way about 4:30 p.m. and showed a knife, according to the Hernando Sheriff's Office. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants and black sneakers with white soles.

The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a silver Chrysler minivan with a luggage rack on top and plastic bug deflector mounted on the hood.

Later, about 5:30 p.m., authorities said Brooksville Police stopped a minivan matching the description of the getaway vehicle near Cortez and Candlelight boulevards in Brooksville. Brooksville officers and sheriff's deputies and detectives took three suspects into custody. Additional information was not available Wednesday evening.
