HOLIDAY — Pasco sheriff's deputies said they found 53 marijuana plants and a methamphetamine laboratory during a raid of a Beacon Square home at 3605 Oakhurst Drive on Tuesday.
The residents — Thomas and Patricia Phillips — were arrested. Patricia Phillips, 46, was charged with cultivation of marijuana and violating her felony probation. She is being held without bail at the Pasco jail. Thomas Phillips, 54, is charged with cultivation and possession of marijuana and manufacturing and possessing methamphetamines. In addition to the 53 plants, a little less than an ounce of loose marijuana was also found at the property, authorities said.
Thomas Phillips told a deputy he was only growing the marijuana for a friend with cancer, though he didn't give a reason for the meth lab, a report states. He said he made the meth using instructions he found online.
