HOLIDAY — Christina Nardi vanished Friday afternoon and, soon after, a friend of Nardi's received text messages saying the 34-year-old woman had been abducted and demanded money for her return.
Authorities tracked the messages and found they were being sent from Starkey Park, where Nardi's minivan was found. She answered her cell phone when deputies called and said she was lost in the woods.
After a massive search, Nardi was found. She had minor injuries. At press time, detectives were talking with her to find out what happened.
Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, said that although Nardi had her cell phone with her, she never called 911 asking for help.
The search for her began at her home, which, according to records, appears to be on Salisbury Drive in Holiday. Before tracing the messages to Starkey Park, authorities scoured western Pasco, looking for her and her car.
