NEW PORT RICHEY — Pasco deputies and Secret Service agents have arrested a 35-year-old man, accusing him of making and using counterfeit money.

When Jody R. Barone was arrested at his home on Tyler Drive, authorities say they found counterfeit bills, printer ink, printers, bleaching material, check stock, photo scanners and other items used to make counterfeit money, along with $4,400 in fake bills.

A Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said Barone was using other people to spend the money in the community. It is still being determined how much money was used put in circulation.

Barone was charged on an outstanding federal warrant with manufacture/possession of counterfeit currency. He surrendered without resistance and was taken to the U.S. Marshal's Office. He was later released on bail.
