New Port Richey police look for man wanted in Saturday night shooting

NEW PORT RICHEY — Police are looking for a man they say shot and injured another man Saturday night.

Shane Michael Haney, 20, of 5940 Missouri Ave., is a suspect in a shooting that occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police say Haney shot a man in the leg during a confrontation. The victim, whom police have not yet identified, was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. He was in stable condition.

Police said Haney fled after the shooting and considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the New Port Richey Police Department at (727) 841-4550.

    TAMPA — For many, Wednesday's regional transportation meeting was a dose of deja vu.

    The Florida Department of Transportation on Monday announced that it was renaming its controversial Tampa Bay Express plan, also known as TBX. The plan will now be known as Tampa Bay Next, or TBN. But the plan remains the same: spend $60 billion to add 90 miles of toll roads to bay area interstates that are currently free of tolls.
