New Port Richey woman accused of pawning stolen items

NEW PORT RICHEY — A woman was arrested last week after pawning stolen jewelry and electronics, authorities said.

Pamela Allene Luna, 25, got more than $800 on Oct. 21 after pawning a laptop, iPod, iPad and gold jewelry to a pawn shop in New Port Richey — all items that were part of a burglary ring in Pasco County, according a report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

After her arrest on Friday, Luna told authorities she pawned the items that weren't hers because she needed cigarette money.

Luna, of New Port Richey, was charged with six counts of false verification of ownership and remained Tuesday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
